Jeffrey Wang is an entrepreneur and full-stack web developer who founded and owns his own business, and is currently pursuing business projects in the field of computer science.
Jeffrey founded an online business, MyWikis, when he was 11 and continues to operate it very successfully even today. In June 2018, the Denton Record-Chronicle interviewed him about his entrepreneurial pursuits. Later in the year, The Daily Texan also interviewed him about his experiences. He attributes many parts of his computer science knowledge to his business.
He currently studies Computer Science and Business Honors at the University of Texas at Austin in the Turing Scholars Program (Computer Science honors program) and the Business Honors Program.
In May 2018, Jeffrey graduated with honors and a 4.0 GPA from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS), a prestigious early college program at the University of North Texas (UNT) for the brightest STEM minds in Texas. Before attending TAMS, he attended McKinney Boyd High School, where he led the initiative to redesign the school website. In the summer of 2017, while attending TAMS, he conducted research in accessible computer science education at UNT with a tenured professor.
In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys promoting civic engagement as a volunteer deputy registrar (VDR) in multiple Texas counties, registering citizens to vote. He also enjoys working with students, co-founding and teaching at Code Horizon, a coding summer camp. He is also an experienced tutor well versed in various subjects and has tutored for the SAT, ACT, high school math, calculus, and chemistry.
Apart from speaking English, he has also spoken Mandarin Chinese since he was young and learned four years of French in high school. He continues to be passionate about learning different languages and cultures. One of Jeffrey's dreams is to travel to Europe and different parts of Asia someday, and it helps he's passionate about all kinds of maps as well as transportation and travel in general.
